ESB. Rotating seasonal release. alaskanbeer.com. Nine-time Great American Beer Festival medal winner & 20012 BIIA Champion International Ale, back for a limited time. Beer powered beer. Hidden among 1,500 square miles of the Juneau Ice Field, the pristine waters of Alaska's Inside Passage and the bear-lined shores of Admiralty Island, Alaskan Brewing Company quietly brews some of the world's most award-winning beer in Juneau, Alaska. Like the land that inspires them, Alaskan beers are anything but ordinary. The same can be said of the people who drink them. Frontier Lifeline: Produced from 1948 to 1967, the de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver is a workhorse in the Alaskan backcountry, connecting communities to vital services and to each other. Over 1,600 were produced to answer the demand for versatile planes for use in rural areas. Although engineers warned short takeoffs would lead to low cruising speed, one pilot replied: You only have to be faster than a dog sled. Many are now over 60 years old, but the Beavers continue to provide products like fresh Alaskan beer to remote lodges, and the only access to the outside world for many communities, whether fitted with wheels, skis or floats. The state of Alaska is more than 1/5 the size of the entire low 48 states combined. Gear up at alaskanbeer.com: clothes; pints; gifts. We love Alaska, and our CO2 recovery system, water-saving mash press filter and innovative steam boiler are all steps toward allowing us to brew beer in the most efficient and cleanest way possible in this beautiful place we call home.
